darlodiva - Tuesday, 06 Mar 2012, Surry Hills, NSW,
**We meet from 6:30pm for a bite to eat. We aim to start discussing the book around 7pm.**

Food Inc.: A Participant Guide - How Industrial Food is Making Us Sicker, Fatter, and Poorer and What You Can Do About it (Paperback)

Food, Inc. is guaranteed to shake up our perceptions of what we eat. This powerful documentary deconstructing the corporate food industry in America was hailed by Entertainment Weekly as more than a terrific movieits an important movie. Aided by expert commentators such as Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser, the film poses questions such as: Where has my food come from, and who has processed it? What are the giant agribusinesses and what stake do they have in maintaining the status quo of food production and consumption? How can I feed my family healthy foods affordably? Expanding on the films themes, the book Food, Inc. will answer those questions through a series of challenging essays by leading experts and thinkers. This book will encourage those inspired by the film to learn more about the issues, and act to change the world.

pegasus19 - Tuesday, 21 Feb 2012, Hamilton, QLD,

For those who have a sense of fun and a bit of general knowledge of science, TV shows, movies, geography, music, sport or anything else for that matter. You would be surprised how many facts and figures you carry in your heads. We aim to socialise rather than take it all too seriously.

The Hammo does good coffee and reasonably priced food and is not a bad venue. We have a new quizmaster and a different format than has been in the past but it seems there are more teams and people attending. A good night.

Be there by not later 6:45 as the comp kicks off at 7:00 sharp and normally finishes by about 9.30pm. We generally grab a couple of tables near the quizmaster however this can't be guaranteed as it can sometimes get busy . ......I'll be there from 6.30 so give me a call/text if you can't find us.

Look forward to seeing you, Gary. 0410 438 017

Gypsy Wonderer - Thursday, 09 Feb 2012, Brighton Beach, VIC,
In recognition of and respect to Andrea we are back at Milano's. This is the last walk Andrea can do for several months as she is returning to her studies so we are going back to Milano's. This will enable the dog lovers amongst us to bring our pooches and sit in the beer garden after our walk. It's a leisurely stoll along the beach track followed by a drink and or meal. If you are running late or unable to attend please let me know Kris 0409578005

Hi All!

Just wondered if anyone is going to Soundwave 2012?

I managed to grab a ticket before they all sold out but sadly my friends weren't so lucky so I'll be heading along solo, so if anyone is in the same boat and fancies teaming up to enjoy the gig give me a shout

Drinks @ Albion Hotel & Dinner @ Efe's

Scully72 - Saturday, 18 Feb 2012, Albion, QLD,
Lets start at the Albion Hotel in the main bar for a few quiet drinks then move across the road too, in my opinion, the best Turkish restaurant in Brisbane Efe's One. Not to mention you could learn some amazing belly dancing skills if your lucky enough to get asked to stand up and be taught by some of the most gorgeous belly dancers you've ever seen! The Albion Hotel is easy to get to a 2 minute walk from the train station and on the 322 & 306 Bus route. We will kick off around 6.00pm and move across the road for dinner at around 8ish? I'm going to close this off on Thursday 16th so I can make a reservation so please rsvp by them. You can check out the menu at Efe's at http://www.efesone.com.au/index.php?id=3. If we get a few people keen we may go for the banquet option we'll see how many are keen. I'll put my number in the forum if you have trouble finding us give me a call.

Look forward to seeing you.
Cheers
