Tim Freedman's Fireside Chat + King Salmon

socialanimal - Friday, 06 Jul 2012, Circular Quay, NSW,
Hi,
Hope you can join me for Tim Freedman's national Fireside Chat Winter Solo Tour. Tim Freedman is best known as the lead singer/songwriter of The Whitlams, an ARIA Group of the Year, with a string of gold and multi-platinum albums. His songs of charming well-crafted cynicism can sound as if Randy Newman had joined Crowded House. It is no surprise that Tim's solo shows have become as popular as his four-piece band shows. The Whitlams success has always been about the emotional clout of his songs, which is laid bare when the rock adornments are removed. Late last year Tim released his solo debut album, Australian Idle, and toured with his new band The Idle. The album is an unabashedly joyful 70's piano-pop outing, and the first single is a remake of Billy Field's You Weren't in Love With Me, which is enjoying extensive airplay nationally.
The cost of the tickets is $35 + booking fee. His shows are always popular and sell out so booking early is a must. The tickets can be booked through http://www.thebasement.com.au/gigs/tim-freedmans-fireside-chat-kim-salmon.

Cook the World Xmas in July Party

scousegal - Friday, 13 Jul 2012, Fremantle, WA,
Hi Guys

I thought we'd have a Cook the World with a difference!! This event will be a Xmas in July Party complete with finger food and entertainment.
Anyone that has been to one of our dinner parties before will know that the Cook the Worldies can turn their hand to any type of culinary challenge and come out on top!! So for this party we're going to limit the food type to finger food only - no bowls or cutlery required!!
Any country can be used - you can bring savoury or sweet food, fancy nuts and crisps, home made samosas, cheeses, dips and pies. For dessert we could include cheese and biscuits, home made choccies and beautiful cakes and cup cakes! Jelly shots or just the usual shots!!! Yummmm!!! The list is endless and delicious!!
For the entertainment we have hired a wonderful guy called Ari who can often be seen performing at The Market Bar in Freo on a friday night. We were lucky to have Ari play for us at our wedding reception and he went down a storm!!
So put on your dancing shoes and warm up your vocal chords as we'll be in for a really fun night!!

Vivid Sydney - Two Hour Cruise

Petulia - Friday, 25 May 2012, Darling Harbour, NSW,
Vivid Sydney is the biggest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting over 400,000 attendees in 2011. Soak up the famous Vivid Sydney festival from the water with a Two Hour Cruise for only $25. Get a prime view of the Sydney Opera House as the world famous sails are transformed by German collective Urbansceen, with 3D digital mapping projections that will leave you spellbound.

We will kick off our Vivid Sydney experience with a Glass of Bubbly on arrival followed by Gourmet handmade Canapes prepared fresh by an award winning chef flown in especially for the event. The boat is fully licenced for you to purchase further drinks.

I will be purchasing these tickets via an internet voucher deal site. Therefore, please only put your name down if you are committed to attending, as I will be asking you to transfer the money into my account within the next few days.
I've spoken with the organiser, and he will hold a group of tickets for me for the 7pm cruise (returning at 9pm), but can only guarantee this for a short period of time. After then, if that cruise is already full, I will then try for the 9:15pm departure.

Naturally, there will be an opportunity to kick on afterwards at one of the many drinking holes in the area. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Olivia - see me dance!

ivantheterrible - Sunday, 20 May 2012, Carine, WA,
I will be dancing in the upcoming musical extravaganza 'Olivia'.

Written by Malcolm Sircom, “Olivia”, set in Victorian times, relays the tale of a young orphan, Olivia, who escapes from the confines of an orphanage and meets Eliza Doolittle and her flower- selling friends. Eliza, pitying poor Olivia, introduces her to Mrs. Dilber, who runs the ‘Poor School For Girls’. Olivia fits in very well at the new orphanage and discovers a fine talent for singing. The show uniquely brings together all those characters from famous shows you know and love such as Olivia (The Female Oliver), The Artful Dodger, Fagin, Scrooge, Eliza Doolittle, George Bernard Shaw, an adult Annie and Sherlock Holmes. Relive your favourite stories and characters, all combined into one show of endless fun and entertainment!

Under the directorship of Christine Fillis, Pristine Entertainment has had many past successes with productions, all of which have featured a variety of performers and of a very high standard.

‘Olivia’ is no different. Directed and musically directed by Ann Robinson, choreographed by Dorothy Gaunt, and featuring the likes of Ian Toyne, Bree McGurk, Ben Clarke, Geoff Robinson, Alan Needham, Alysha McGreevy as well as introducing Tory Kendrick, this show is a must see! The show embraces audiences of all ages, so come along and support these fantastic performers.
